Buffalo automobile and truck manufacturing company with origins in firm founded in 1870, becoming the George N. Pierce Company in 1896 and the Pierce-Arrow Motor Car Company in 1909. In 1928 came under control of the Studebaker Corporation; in 1932 sold its truck business to the White Motor Company (a Studebaker subsidiary).
